Sometimes, when you get older, you go to El Salvador. Is for fun.

Today I will attempt to catch up from a week (yes, a whole week!) of no blog posts. My mother will be relieved I'm sure :)

In what was truly an epic three-day adventure, J. & I embarked via TACA Bus from Tegucigalpa to El Salvador last Thursday through Saturday. This trip, though small in kilometers and in hours, was a rather fabulous vacation which involved temple open houses, the beach, birthday!, Mayan ruins, volcano, pupusas, and the oh-my-incredible familia T.

My good friend Y. goes to BYU and he graciously lent us his family during our short tenure in San Salvador. And oh goodness, did la familia T. treat us like queens. They picked us up from the bus station, shuttled us everywhere from San Andres to the VIP temple open house, helped arrange for transportation to he beach, and when Hna. & Hno. T picked us up yesterday to drive us once again to the bus station they saw us off not only with many warm words and hugs but with souvenirs, Salvadoran chucheria, and (the best!) homemade pupusas. There is no way that any amount of blog-posts filled with complementary adjectives can adequately describe how well we were treated. If this vacation was a success it was solely due to Familia T. They are amazing, good, and smart people who were an absolute delight to get to know. I now love El Salvador because of them. So, thank-you, thank-you, thank-you.
